Ground Control
Ground control is a branch of aerodrome control responsible for movements on the aerodrome manoeuvring area - this includes all taxiways, aprons/ramps (for the sake of standardisation, we use aprons) and INACTIVE runways.
Responsibilities of a Ground Controller
- Ensuring that metal does not hit metal
- Providing taxi instructions to aircraft
- Ensure appropriate loading of taxiways and traffic
- Providing IFR Flight clearances
